About Infrared Sauna Kits

What is 'Far Infrared heat' and why is it better than the regular heat in a traditional sauna? Hopefully this page will tell you all you need to know.

Traditional Vs. Infrared Sauna Kits

Not to get too technical, but as you are probably aware in a traditional sauna hot rocks heat the ambient air, which in turn heats your skin raising your body temperature and making you sweat. This is an indirect means of heat in that 100% of the heat energy created is heating the air, with a much smaller proportion of that heating you. With Far Infrared heat saunas (or FIR saunas) because the heat is infrared and not 'radiant' (as in traditional saunas) in excess of 80% of the energy is absorbed and converted to heat within your body. This leaves less than 20% (maybe less than 10%) going to heat the air. This means:

a) the heat penetrates your body more deeply and so the effects reach deeper, and

b) you sweat more heavily and at a lower temperature.

Sauna Health Benefits: Traditional Vs. Infrared Sauna Kits

This also means that the health benefits may be increased too, so that pain relief, stress relief, detoxification, skin conditioning, cardiovascular health, weight loss are all more noticeable using an infrared sauna. Good news for you and your family. In fact, research shows that the infrared sauna has five times the rate of toxin release than a regular sauna - very significant, especially as they operate at lower temperatures! Of course, this is a totally safe technology and could work out far more cost-efficient as a home sauna.

Maintenance: Traditional Vs. Infrared Sauna Kits

Traditional saunas require regular maintenance: heating rocks, fetching water, cleaning heaters, not to mention treating the wood (as all wood that comes into contact with water must be)! Infrared saunas on the other hand can be far easier for home use and much easier to maintain. Just about the only thing you'll need to do is give it the occasional wipe inside (if you're building up good sweats it'll probably run a little!) and if it's in you garden you may need to just treat the rood every few years. If it's indoors however you won't even need to do that!

The Conclusion: Traditional Vs. Infrared Sauna Kits

A fair review and comparison puts infrared sauna kits in a class of their own when it comes to benefits, cost, space and just pure luxury, and they simply have more benefits all-round when compared to traditional saunas.

Personally, I love all saunas, but FIR saunas are by far the best in my (very well-researched) opinion for all the reasons I've outlined. I'm pretty confident that after reading through this site and doing your own research you will reach the same conclusion as me when it comes to your purchase and you'll opt for one of the infrared sauna kits below which you can be confident are among the very best on the market.
